Want To Buy 300 Sherwood dies

Great, the Sherwood is an interesting cartridge. The original ballistics were 140 gr bullet at 1400 fps.

I just tried Missouri cast 135 gr bullets with 4198 and they are accurate. My load was slightly higher than 1400 fps.

I have just been getting components together for a friend in Namibia to load a .300 & found a set of Home Made Whack A Mole type dies, I see the last owner (now deceased) was loading 110gr .30cal bullets as the rifle was gone not sure if it had a over sized or worn bore .

What caliber/size bullets have you guys tried ?

I’m always on the lookout for one myself, won’t be able to afford a nice hammerless break action Rook but a Martini type Rook I could do.

The 300 Sherwood uses a 0.300" bullet. I resize larger, hard cast bullets to 0.301". I also found 0.300" jacketed bullets that work well.

Is one was looking for an easy cartridge to reload and had a small action, I would recommend chambering the barrel for 32 H&R. Cases and bullets are easy to find.

I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
