London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. will unveil two new rifle models at the upcoming Safari Club International (SCI) Convention in Nashville, taking place Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 February. The official launch event will be held at 11:00am on Thursday 19 February at the Rigby stand (booth #1507).

The new additions, the Highland Stalker Magnum and the Big Game Vintage, expand Rigby’s offering for hunters seeking rifles that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern performance.

The Highland Stalker Magnum builds on the proven Highland Stalker platform, configured to offer greater reach and flexibility for medium- to long-range hunting. Designed for versatility across varied terrain and hunting environments, the model features a 24-inch barrel and is available chambered in .7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Winchester Magnum.

It is fitted with a 14½-inch oil-finished premium walnut stock and red rubber recoil pad and comes with fixed iron sights as standard. As with all Highland Stalker rifles, it incorporates Rigby’s signature flame-blued extractor spring, bolt release spring and magazine follower. When paired with quick-detach rings and a high-power scope, the Highland Stalker Magnum offers a capable and adaptable rifle suited to a wide range of hunting scenarios worldwide.

Alongside it, Rigby introduces the Big Game Vintage, a model inspired by the company’s pre-war magnum action rifles. Combining classic lines with modern performance, the Big Game Vintage features the 24-inch Big Game barrel profile with integrated fixed iron sights and is available in .404 Jeffery, .416 Rigby, .458 Lott and .450 Rigby. A redesigned stock shape echoes the proportions of historic Rigby magnum rifles and is finished with traditional hand-cut checkering, creating a rifle that balances timeless aesthetics with the capability required for serious dangerous game hunting.

Slade Stevens, head of Rigby’s Highland Stalker and Big Game department commented:

“In the early 90s, legendary gunmaker Paul Roberts wrote an article describing the greatest combination of rifle calibres to take on any one safari – his conclusion was the 416 Rigby and the 300win mag.

We’re excited to introduce, built on the tested Highland stalker platform, the Highland Stalker Magnum (HSM for short) in 7rem mag, 300win mag and 338win mag.

This is the other half of the equation. This is your ticket to the rest of the world.”

Both models will be available to view throughout the show at the Rigby stand, where visitors can meet the team, explore customisation options and learn more about the rifles’ development and specifications.

Will see you tomorrow then!

Here’s a few pics of the Big Game Vintage. Love this work of art. Will love it more after taking it out to Africa later this year.

Many thanks to Gary Duffey at Rigby and Alex Pullin at Wolf’s Mercantile, for working with me on this fine rifle.

Looked at both of the new offerings and the Vintage just feels right in my hands.

Aren't they all vintage? Not that i'm complaining, thank God for Rigby and their peers more now than ever in what has become a singularly slovenly human landscape.

Thank you for the encouraging sentiment!

Its an interesting observation for certain. All of the Rigby guns contain aspects that honor the vintage aesthetic that help establish the brand, but they also contain options that were not available or desired in other eras. I believe that the aim of the "vintage" model is to provide a gun with the type of options that were popular in the past era.

I'm all for it. God is in the details. I wonder, will a cocking-piece peep be amongst the options? I'd certainly go for one. Flag safety, cocking piece peep, no comb. One day. The rifle in the photos above is perfection.

We appreciate your interest!

I will put you in touch with the team member that can answer all your questions. His name is Slade and he is in London. I don’t believe I can provide his email information directly in the public response, but I will send you a PM with it.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
