Knife carry - back of belt?

Okay, so I've seen a number of YouTube videos where people carry fixed blade knives on the very back of their belts. The suburbanite in me cringes when he sees this, as it looks like a great way to buy new seats for the car, the living room, etc. Up until now, I've contented myself with a fixed blade knife safely secured in my backpack, and a capable high quality folder clipped into my right pocket. Am I missing out on something, or do the people in the videos just enjoy buying new upholstery?
Do not have any hard equipment in the middle of you back.
You can go down and take a real nasty blow to the spine

Sene it to many times with cuffs

I keep a folder in my front, strong side pocket.. thats the only knife I keep on my person..

other knives, multi-tool, etc.. all get hauled around in my pack..
+1. The padded hip belt on most packs is not conducive to having anything attached to a pants belt underneath it. I too carry a folder clipped to my right pocket, two skinning knives in the pack, and if I’m not carrying a rifle, my Glock 40 10mm in the holster attached to the front of the pack.

Yep, nothing on the belt in the middle of the lower back.

Unless your only use is to cut biltong, for Africa, the left cross belt carry is superb. It is never a problem entering or exiting a vehicle (or campfire seat), and is instantly available for anything else. In the Third World, I never leave home without it. The knife is the JT Ranger by Von Gruff. https://vongruffknives.com/438154608/438245812

I would venture to say you never need a knife or even a side arm ,......... until you do, then they could be priceless, everything from shaving kindling for a fire to skinning your food. Ive carried a sidearm for decades and never once needed it, should I stop? better to not need it and have it than, well you know.

I carry a 5" Bagwell Damascus skinner on my belt daily my old friend Bill made me, it can be slightly canted for vehicle operation, no problems with back discomfort, a snuff can with a couple spare mags of ammo in a rear jeans pocket over the years is what caused me to have the driver's seat recovered in my farm 1-ton.

They wear seats as well as back pocket material.

I have a separate "hunting belt." Cartridge carrier, range finder, small pair of shooting sticks, two knives, a small pouch to.hold essentials and a canteen in hot, dry country. Most, if not all of these things are on the belt during a hunt. When I get back to a vehicle or go inside there is no question about sitting with it on. Undo the buckle and everything comes off at one time. And yes the knives are in the back.
I should point out that I detest wearing a back pack while hunting and won't do.it unless forced to. Heavy coat, rain gear, thermals, maybe a spotting scope, etc. I have never had to carry one in Africa. I do keep one with extra stuff in the vehicle.

Same with carrying some water/filter pump, lighter, t.p. and a flashlight. No easy substitutes in the woods/bush.

I no longer carry a knife on my belt when hunting for many years now. Gets in the way as I use a fixed blade.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
