Well, I've seen threads on "the best" and "the worst" and "what do you hate", etc..........so here is another one!

What reloading components have you come to know and love that have been suddenly yanked from the shelves because of whatever stupid reason?

I would like to see the older style Winchester "silver tips" in .30/30 and .35 caliber brought back. I would also like to see the Speer .38 and .44 caliber "3/4 jacket" bullets back in the line up (146 grain HP and 160 grain SP in .38/357 and 225 grain JHP and 240 grain SP in .44 magnum).......l loved using them for hunting handgun loads.

For shotgun, I'd like to see Remington bring back their hunting wads......SP12, RP 12, SP 16 and SP20 gauge wads. While I'm wishing, I'd like to see the 20 gauge WAA20F1 field wad back in stock. As far as hulls go, I'd like to see the Federal "hi-power" back on the shelf as well as the ACTIV all plastic hulls......these hulls were GREAT for reloading short, heavy magnum loads for geese and turkey.

Powders? How about bringing back SR 4756? I used a LOT of that powder fro 9mm loads and bismuth handloads. I wouldn't mind seeing Unique, green dot and Herco back in stock as well (I used to use a ton of Herco in my 16 gauge loads, heavy 12 gauge loads, and handgun loads.). Since I am "wishing", some H414 would be a nice touch as well, as I had a lot of (great) rifle loads that are now obsolete..................

So what are you missing and longing for????

Speer 275 gr .338 bullets

Not reloading components but I miss the Federal Ammunition rebates with PSA orders, getting Federal Blue Box .308 Winchester ammo for $8 a box, CCI Brass 9mm ammo 50 ct for $8-$9 a box; cases of 20 gauge Winchester AA shotgun ammo from Academy with the rebate and NO SHIPPING expense because you met their minimal purchase charge for your order.

As @CoElkHunter stated with cheaper primers and powders, passed by long shelves at Fin, Fur and Feather in northeast Ohio for good prices and suddenly, it was gone.
I'd like to see Remington Core-lokt round nose bullets for woods hunting, revolver bullets too, I have heard some moaning from Wisconsin fans (2) of the 180 grain .308 bullets for their 300 Savage 99 rifles.

IMR 4320 and Rem 12 ga 3” buckhammer slugs. And improved Swift Aframes availability
Ah yes............I forgot about IMR 4320! Another great powder that I used in a LOT Of cartridges......35 Remington and .338 Win Mag to name a few.

Winchester 760 is the same powder as H414. They just dropped the Hodgkin branded version for some reason.

Another vote for Rem Core-lokt especially in .35 caliber but good in a lot of calibers & was well priced !

You can order those Remington wads directly from Remington. I ordered 1000 SP12s last year.

Jamison Brass. Especially in safari and other hard-to-find calibers.

I just wanted to thank @Ray B For his generosity in sending me some of the Speer 275 gr bullets (and 200s) that he had after I replied to the OP! Great bunch of folks on AH!

Rl-15

And surplus hirtenberger and lake city 762 NATO at $0.25/rd

Bell brass, IMR4320 and Norma powders and cheaper everything.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
