Totally agree. Everything immediately becomes a conspiracy theory these days. The simplest explanation is usually correct. But the act of a lone lunatic is less interesting and doesn’t allow us to reinforce our desire to blame certain groups, institutions, or individuals.
I don’t think it’s just that.
The trust in the news and the government
Has dropped to the point most think they lie
Every time they open there mouths about anything.

The University of Chicago Turning Point Chapter applied for recognition from the administration and was denied- reason given was that it was too similar to the Young Re[publicans group. One benefit of Charlie's death is that it looks like on reapplication, noting significant differences the chapter will be approved.

In the last 48 hours, Turning point USA has received approximately 32,000 requests to form new chapters.

I read that from a couple of different sources today…

Sometimes it’s really hard for me to see silver linings, or to understand the concept of Gods will always being done, even when there is evil involved…

When I read that earlier today the first thing I thought was “Gods will be done”.. genuine evil struck down Charlie Kirk… in the wake of that evil Kirk’s organizations will all expand rapidly… and he now has more exposure and more YouTube hits than ever before… his messages are spreading farther and wider at a much faster pace…

A particular university I’m familiar with that has a turning point chapter had 94 student members at the beginning of the semester.

That number has almost doubled in the last week.

Gods will be done.

You're right. I did all of those things when I still lived in California. My parents and grandparents were all born there, and I lived there until I was almost 40. In fact, California is still.largely conservative once you get away from San Francisco and Los Angeles. Unfortunately the state is run by those two areas.
YEA good memories, the south fork of the Merced river only place I can say I caught native wild rainbows. my wife was from long beach area, walked to the beach after school and surfed, played out till after dark in the orange groves and dairy farms. a lot has changed for the worse. I went to church with a guy who said his dad saw bigfoot, [a logger].

Diversity has never made anything stronger. Strength comes with unity. Can't say how that relates to the Brit flag.
I dont mind diversity at its core… I actually like “different” people, different thoughts, different cultures, etc… I think the world would be an incredibly boring place if it wasn’t wildly diverse in every possible way…

What I have no tolerance for is forced “diversity”, or some of the new, quite ridiculous definitions people have come up with for the word…

I’m a let the free market reign sorta guy.. let me hire who I want, associate with who I want, worship with who I want, buy from who I want, sell to who I want, etc etc… and leave me alone if I choose not to hire/associate/worship/whatever with you… the market/church/family/friends/etc will sort themselves out… if I’m a douchebag, I’ll pay the consequences for that… if not, I’ll reap the rewards.. whether we are talking business, friendships, family, etc…

Diversity is like metallurgy. Iron ore melted down and allowed to cool results in iron- a hard but somewhat brittle object. but add in various amounts of different elements- elements that contribute to the common goal and the result is steel that is much stronger and resistant to breaking. the difference between aliens and elements is that the elements are added so that they can contribute to the common goal where as the aliens are maintaining their own identity, refusing to assimilate.

Very good analogy

Your comment along with Bowjijohn's jibes well with one of Charlie Kirks statements that this is the most lied to generation ever. Interesting that said sentiment is echoing in divergent cultures' mistrust of institutions. What the leftists have put in, ordinary people are seeing the need to take out.
Will also be interesting to see if the clamor to "send them home" picks up speed in England with any resultant activity at all. You can bet the Islamists will try to stave it off with temporary offers of "peace" per the usual playbook.

All the Islamists in Texas clamoring for Sharia communities should be deported IMO

I agree. But assimilation isn’t just conforming to the local. We take on elements of those who join us. Food, music, etc. society evolves as it grows and is stronger and richer for it.

I remember when the local grocer started and aisle of Hispanic spices and foods. Many in the neighborhood grumbled. I was excited to try new things and found some great things that make meals better.

Certainly core societal values remain but things around the edges evolve.

I distrust in main stream media (all).
I distrust even more privately owned main stream media (all).

If ever I were to """trust""" a main stream media it would NEED to be, publicly funded, publicly controlled & publicly operated with the ONLY agenda repeatedly repeated is, what the public desires & the public can hire & fire whom they see fit for this main stream media outlet.

NPR/PBS ae the worst of the bunch!!
Hence why I did not name any public media outlets that I trust cause I don't.
They aren't operating the way that they should (citizen have complete control).

Problem with private media is that ALL have an agenda and NONE are beholden to the viewer.

Properly operated public media can't have an agenda and are completely beholden to the viewer (their boss).

Therein lies the problem..

I have a voracious appetite for geopolitical information… much of my job/career depends on it… so I monitor a huge swath of global outlets .. both public and private…

They’re all manned by humans.. and regardless of who is paying them, all humans have bias and most have deeply steeped agendas…

I cannot think of one media source on the planet that doesn’t require a filter applied… none are truly non biased

And they have been that way for years

I remember some of the gun control bs from the 80s
Especially the one where a watermelon was shot with a Ak to show how powerful it was.
Then it came out the ak round didn’t do enough damage. So the reporter had it shot with a 9mm hp.
I cant remember if they added water to it as well.
But I definitely remember them shooting it with a 9mm hp to get the damage they wanted
