Hello All, I've been perusing this site for several years now and have finally made the jump to becoming a member. I live in kind of south central Montana and I've hunted in a number of US States and twice in South Africa.
I may be tempted to give my reports on some of my South Africa experience. We'll see how the dust settles after this last time around.
Some of you I may have met at the @mdwest house party this past January during the TTHA/SCI show and hope to meet again this coming year.
A shout out to @Bos en Dal SAFARIS and @mdwest !!

Welcome to AH

Welcome to AH from another Montanan. Please do write up your hunt reports, we all enjoy living vicariously through the travel of others!

Good day! Welcome!

Welcome Steve!

For those that attended the TTHA party at our house last year, @Mountainshadows is the guy that donated the absolutely beautiful custom knife as one of our door prizes.. https://mtmakerllc.com/

As many of you are aware, Im a knife maker myself and have at this point made pretty close to 300 (although I still very much consider myself a hobbiest at best)... but, that makes me super critical and hyper observant of the quality of work that other people do...

Steve's work is no kidding among the best I've ever seen.. fit and finish are incredible.. his ability to get stuff sharp is unreal (WAY beyond my ability).. designs are practical and work well, etc..

Again, I make knives.. but after getting an mtmaker knife of my own last January, I finished out last hunting season with one of Steves blades, not one of my own.. and my primary hunting knife that I'll be using this year will be one of Steve's.. not to mention the blade I will be taking with me to the PH course Im attending next month in South Africa will be Steve's.. (I sincerely like it that much)..

Welcome to AH Mountainshadows! Nice to have you join us.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
