I am not convinced by vests.
I work without them on the boars
Hot, the freedom of movement is restricted and the kicks are no longer so painful when they get beaten by the boars.
This tempts sharp dogs to go even harder.
Only my 2cent

She don't hunt pigs and the west is against wolves. For roe deer hunt the west don't effect the dogs movement.

Kansas needs to transplant some from Texas. Ha! Ha! In reality, if Kansas had wild hogs, there wouldn’t be a stalk of milo or corn left and thus no pheasants either. They would eat all the silage meant for cattle. It would be an agricultural disaster. Neither Texas or California and maybe other states can control their population.
Kansas has wild pigs in the southern counties, but fish and game will not allow hunting. The current policy is to notify fish & game and they will take care of the problem.

Can a favorite “Pig Sticker” be included in this thread?
Thanks to mdwest for a fun trip!
wow.
Congrats und Waidmannsheil.
Is your Pig Sticker sturdy enough to throw down and hold the sau?
The knifewall seems a little thin to me.
In Germany this PUMA Pig sticker is here very popular

Here's my son with his pig gun. It's a CZ kevlar carbine in 9.3x62, shooting 286 grain Nosler partitions. And no, it's not photoshopped...

Waidmannsheil und Waidmannsdank!

Hey Foxi- No, I dont think my sticker would be anything to use long term. I bought the Cold Steel blade stand alone, then mdwest and I searched on the property for a suitable short staff. It obviously did the trick tought!
Were I to come to Germany and chase the sau, I would most assuredly grab a Puma!

Goopy

The famous writer Leo Tolstoy had a brother, Nikolai, a hunter. Nikolai described hunting in the reeds near the Kuban River. The hunters there used the bayonet of a Berdan rifle on a long shaft. Dangerous hunting, with heavy losses among the dogs.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
