Texas Nilgai price. OUCH

Prices went up a couple thousand dollars. They were $3000 and shoot a second one for another 1000. Now they are $5500 and shoot a second one for another $4000.

This is the king ranch day hunt. I would do this. Best value I can find. The price point would make me ok with the bang flop and pay up sucker nature of it. Try to get two bulls down for $5000 push hard to get it done.

$1,500

BASE FEE PER HUNTER
• $1,500 base fee per hunter is the required deposit to book hunt
• Nilgai bulls are additional $1,750 each
• Nilgai cows are additional $900 each
• Day of hunt guide collects harvest fees
• One day hunt
• Meet early in the morning at Norias Main Gate
• Lunch included
• Up to 2 hunters: 1 guide

Myself and a few other KY deer hunting buddies have been looking at Tejas Nilgai hunt for Q1 2026. Since I was already considering a 2026 Bison meat hunt in the Dakotas, this was interesting to me. But the bulls were quoted at about $5k for a 2-day hunt. I like the idea of getting to keep the meat but honestly, that is a hefty fee for one and done.

I keep thinking about what could I add to this year's Safari instead? I am gonna have to to think long and hard on the Nilgai.

As mentioned, they went the same course as the aoudad. You can blame Youtube and hunting blogs for the increased interest in both hunts, which led to the price increases.

I wish I could get a few "hunting influencers" to tout armadillo hunts as I could make a fortune

FWIW, I offer guided squirrel and rabbit hunts at the park across from my house for a daily fee of $25 and a case of Dos XX, plus a trophy fee of 75 cents per animal taken. I do not offer packing and shipping at this time, but will provide Ziploc bags within reason. ;-)

Do we get to drink the Dos XX with you?

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
