Black owned hunting safari businesses?

I wish that I could have asked the question differently, but I didn't. Like I said before, I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers.
Understand the intent of your question.
In my simple mind's eye, race is a human construct.
Unfortunately, humans of all sorts construct it differently. It's a highly charged subject.

Isaac and Ishmael.

I grew up in rural Southwest Louisiana, with black people that were descendants of sharecroppers. Good folks that taught me to hunt, trained and gave me my first rabbit dog. Taught me to cook. (My Dad already knew how). We counted on each other.

A fair question to know how to best to support the local Africans.

White Africans help Black Africans and Black Africans help White Africans.
Martin Luther King, Jr (broadly paraphrasing) stated it's about the character of men's (and women's) souls, not the color of skin.

So perhaps the question could be how to support the local communities when traveling to Africa. Many Outfitters, PH's and Landowners do just this in so many ways.

Schools, Health Clinics, water wells, roads, jobs, markets for goods, meat for the undernourished locals (an issue close to my heart as a chef).

There are some members of this forum that probably have good insight, and experience in supporting African people.

Just ask.
It is worth the time to research. You will be surprised.

We are all God's children.

I’m staying out of this one but I LOVE that dead grass color Chessie. My first and last were both DG and the two in the middle were traditional colors.
I hope you find what your looking for!

I see your a moderator, any way to make this flaming pile I reluctantly created go away?

It’s all good. Although the wording of the initial question raised some eyebrows, the resulting conversation set it straight. Don’t lose heart, there’s lots of good folks on here.

I've probably been to most of those restaurants with my wife. My wife told me the secret to good Chinese food. If everyone is speaking Chinese, it's good. Then I asked her how I can find the good stuff myself? She simply said, you can't without me.

I think that's a prety good hint. That she wants you take her out to eat more often.

Welcome to Forum!

In all seriousness, pretty much all safaris I have been on, have a local owner or representative, or business interest. Read into that however you like, but it is good to see you are trying to make sure your money is going back into the community. It is important part of the experience.

If you really want to have fun, start a topic on if the Dark Continent nickname has a racist origin, or perhaps mention you read Craig Boddington or saw a Mark Sullivan video. If you are really bored, try a topic on lion hunting in South Africa or how you like your eggs cooked. I'm sure any topic will get you 100 post thread going.

Let's get this thread back on track. Push feed vs. control feed? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

There was a famous ex military man in Ethiopia that was "go to" for mountain nyala. Can't call his name right now.
That would be Colonel Negussie Eshete.
During the Haile Selassie era he completed the US Army Jump School at Fort Benning. He retired with the rank of Colonel in the Ethiopian Army and started his own safari company "Rocky Valley Safaris" (not to be confused with another Ethiopian company called "Rift Valley Safaris"). He passed away some years ago well into his nineties.
The below photo was taken in December 1986.

Why would you want to know this? This forum steers clear of all racial issues and the ethnicity of the owner of the operator should be irrelevant.

Looking at your joining date and terminology used, this seems to be a loaded question.
Is the OP black?

Who exactly is his “own”? I don’t see him asking about safaris in west or central Africa which is where the overwhelming majority of his ancestors would have come from if he was African American or as what any sensible person should refer to as “American”. Unless you’re speaking in a Pan African sense
" Why you ask" to stir the pot ! Before you know it its Outfitter against Outfit and Ph against Ph. That the way " these people" operate. Very

May I say it is the person not thef race. If Capone would have came in and made me a offer that I could not refuse maybe we could have made more money. Pride may have been hurt.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
