Owen, I'm out of money...but those are some great prices! Good Luck! I know the trophy quality there and the hunting is good too.

Hi

Hi again !

Thanks for the compliment. Yes in our area as you mentioned we have massive game body and horn size - you dont get any larger plains game anywhere in SA than Northern Cape /freestate area due to our climate and vegetation from grassy to thick bush for kudu that you cant even walk in. Im sure you saw it when you were over here.

Thanks again ! take care.

Owen

great hunting oppertunity?

Hi Owen,
yes i am sure you have spectacular game up to take...thing is you are not targeting or even catering for the local market?? so you best off saying so in your advert upfront, so the local "meat hunter" dont even waste his time looking at what you got.

there are hunting lodges that cater for the "meat hunter" and also price accordingly.

thanx anyway
Duane

hi

Hi,

Yes, maybe i forgot to add that this is only for overseas hunters. We get local hunters but mainly only close friends, family and business partners.

Regarding these prices for overseas hunters you cant find better.

In all business everyone has their own marketing areas and prices. Everyone has the internet so let the hunter google and "fish for their hunts and prices "

Regards,

Owen

Hi Owen,

You are right the East Cape and Northern Province have some super thick cover. And it is different than what you see in the Limpopo Province. I'm not saying the Limpopo isn't thick...it's just different. Just like Namibia is different, etc. I thought the Kudu hunting in the fog and thick sweetbrush was very challenging at times. There was a lot of cover to hide in...you had to glass...and the shot could be short or very long.

Every property is different....and the big thing on any safari...is the operator or PH that is running the property.

Good Ph's have good animals available.

P.S. for people reading this thread there are some super waterbuck and red lechwe in the East Cape. Very good quality.

lowduane...........I am not really too sure why you would expect to see hunting operators on here offering packages for local meat hunters in South Africa. It is an international website on African hunting and covers the whole continent.

What did you expect him to post at the outset........ "Warning the prices in this offer are way more than biltong hunters want to pay?" I would expect that you would just cruise the site looking at what people have to say. Use what works for you and discard what does not. There is also nothing stopping you from contacting an operator and asking if they have any hunts or rates that are for resident South Africans looking for non-trophy meat animals.

Operators in North America do not cater to the local meat hunters either. The primary focus is on non-resident hunters who, while they have the meat as a product of the hunt, are usually focused on a representative trophy of whatever species they are wanting to hunt........not a local guy looking to put a moose in his freezer. Locals tend to do their own thing, hunting with family and friends. Few turn to an outfitter unless they to are looking to hunt big game species that they cannot access on their own or are looking to hunt trophy quality animals.

:confused::confused::confused:

Duane... Maybe you'd be better off looking for hunting opportunities in SA Game and Hunt or Magnum... BTW, I don't know many SA hunters who would want to hunt Nyala, Red Lechwe, Bontebok etc for meat...
