Hello All

Nkwe Safaris is happy to announce we got a concession for Dangerous Game which as been closed since 2014. These hunts will take place in hunting area NG49 which is 700,000 acres. Pick up and drop off will be from Maun Airport. Short 1 hour drive to camp. Tented camp with full camp staff including daily laundry and chef. These hunts are all inclusive. Meaning no add ons. This area has not been hunted in 6 years.

All hunts will be 10 days

Elephant $65,000 (expect 50+ pounds 60 to 70 is possibility)

Leopard $32,500 (over bait, $7,800 trophy fee returned if no opportunity)

Buffalo $27,500

Combo #1 Elephant and Buffalo $82,500

Combo #2 Elephant and Leopard $87,500

This photo was taken on Tuesday morning while we stood with this 70 pounder for 20 minutes on this concession. We only had the one day to drive around before we had to be back in Maun for the results of concession tenders. This area is loaded with elephants.

Before the hunting was closed we ran 85% success rate on Leopard. I expect it will be the same or better. I have hunted all of these areas for 17 years and there are plenty.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions

Thank you

I love that elephant picture! Sounds like an excellent hunt!

That elephant reminds me of Africa 100 years ago... and before.... I could only imagine such landscapes that old hands have seen!

Tigris115 unfortunately no lion.
Yes this is a great area. Loads of elephants

Exciting opportunities in Botswana!

That is awesome. Congrats and whomever takes these has a real chance at a monster. If I wasn’t booked for the caprivi in sept we would be chatting. Good luck.

I was hoping that the reopening of DG hunting in Botswana would be less expensive? Pity, as I'm right next door.

I was going to say 80# on the big boy so I still remember how to judge it. He is a great beast indeed. Good luck selling your hunts.

The auctions for the 10 tag blocks for 2020 went quite high, somewhere around $45,000 per tag. When you then factor
In the remote nature of these hunts, there is not a lot of margin left for the operators. Given the USFWS issues, I suspect that key markets will be Canada and Europe.

The hunt quality in Botswana is not available anywhere else anymore due to numerous factors: poaching, human encroachment, habitat limitations, changing global politics and policy.

If the stock market had not recently plummeted, these hunts would be sold already. A lot people just lost a ton of money.

I totally agree. I’ve had the privilege of hunting Botswana twice. It is truly special. It may be a bit of a slow start for folks this year, but I suspect that 2021 will be a great year for Bots operators.

Best of luck with the new endeavor. Very exciting. I see that NG 49 borders a national park and has the second highest elephant quota at 15. I have not hunted Botswana or Zambia but I do have a Zambian safari booked. How many years is your new contract valid? Is only DG on quota or can you hunt plains game as well?

WAB you are correct some of the auctions went high.

Scott CWO Thank you. Kudu Zebra Steenbok and Gemsbok are available on this area. If a hunt is finished early we can always go to my place in Ghanzi for additional plains game. 3 hours drive from there.

Thank you everyone for kind words

Jaco,

Will you have the area next year again or does it auction yearly?

Thanks, Scott

See you soo Matt and Jaco!!! Congrats on the new area!!

Scott. As of right now it is for this year

Martin. Thank you. We will see you for sure

Jaco...............this is a dream hunt for sure. Not many members here on AH that do not fantasize about hunting an area not hunted in a while. I think the global panic that has thrilled the media and killed some unlucky souls will impact these high end hunts (Ele and $20K + Buff) more than plains game hunts. Hope I am wrong. BTW, in the 75 days since The Chinese Wuhan Corona Virus has killed nearly 800o people, world wide road traffic deaths have been 278,000. Not to be cavalier about the infection, but I'm trying to maintain perspective and plan my next hunt. Hope your new hunt area turns out prosperous and fulfilling. Might start a little slow, as most of us uncertain about air travel planning, but should sell out. Thanks for posting a dream hunt...................FWB

Thank you flatwater bill. Appreciate it. We are hoping these restrictions are short lived and we can get hunting.
