I've been looking around herein, but am noticing the only forums/events where Africa hunting safari outfitters will be is out west. Do any of you attend shows in the eastern USA?

For instance, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has one in the beginning of February.

Lots of the outfitters seem to goto the Harrisburg show. At least I’ve seen on some of the posts of schedules that they will be there

Our friends from Warthog Safaris in RSA will be in Harrisburg as well as a few others in Michigan and North Carolina (and a few other shows).

Look for the Huntershill Safaris and Comre Safaris booth in Harrisburg :)

Outstanding. Thanks. The only one I had seen posted near me was the Charleston, WV show next weekend, but that's not doable for me. The Harrisburg one will be the week later, and that's well within a day to go there and back. This will be my first opportunity to meet face-to-face with outfitters. I'm interested in dealing with in-country outfitters.

Harrisburg will have numerous hunting outfitters from RSA and Namibia. You can look on the great American outdoors show website to preview all the outfitters that will be attending.

Good Day IlCapo

We have few meet and greets set up in the US over Feb.Closes to you might be near Akron, Ohio 26 Feb and Washington DC 27 Feb.

You are more than welcome to join us for any of these.

If you want more info please don't hesitate to contact me.

Limcroma Safaris will once again be attending the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg booth#5324... Please come by an introduce yourself. We would love the opportunity to meet with you personally and talk a little African hunting!

Spoke to Tienie yesterday, on his way to the airport. Can definitely not go wrong there, they run a brilliant outfit.
Have a Buffalo Bull / cow combo booked upon his return. Cant wait!

The Eastern Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation has our show in Lancaster PA the week after Harrisonburg and there are 5 to 6 African outfitters there. We have a few african hunts that get auctioned off as well.

If you are in the DC area, I will be at the @Tsala Hunting Safaris meet and greet.

Since the NRA took over the Harrisburg show, there seems to be more Africa outfitters. There may be others not listed but here's the link to some of them:

Some in the list are for countries other than Africa.

Finally found the exhibitor list for the Harrisburg show, which is quite extensive. That said, you mention Washington DC on 27 February. What is that venue? I'm not finding anything relevant in searches.

Yes, finally found the right site and there are lots of outfitters there. One that I have been interested in -- Intrepid Safaris -- won't be however. They're down at the Texas shows at this time. Found others which are interesting though.

Not sure if everyone has been there already, but I'm heading up this weekend. Will be attending Saturday and Sunday, 8-9 February.

The crowds should be down and some vendors willing to make deals. BTDT.

I was at the Harrisburg Outdoor Show from Feb 2-5. A lot of hunting and fishing outfitters are there in the Outfitter Hall.

I met up with my booking agent for 2020 EAI Outdoors and met with Somerby Safaris for a Zimbabwe PG hunt in 2022 (or 2023).

This show is big. With a lot of Africa, Canada, and US outfitters. Other outfitters include: Argentina, Romania, Mexico that I can remember. Saw hunts for New Zealand, Russia, and Asia.

Three and a half days and still didn't see everything there is to see. The 7 hour drive up was worth it.

Got there at 1:00 Saturday and stayed through closing, at 7PM. Was there the whole time on Sunday from opening at 10AM to 5PM. HUGE like nothing I've ever seen. One building was guns, another filled with archery and camping stuff, the next all fishing with boats next door, and finally the last building filled with outfitters.

I had gone through the list of outfitters over the last couple weeks, checking out their websites and marking those I was most interested in seeing. Wound up speaking with about ten of them, spending more in depth with several. Learned some are very small outfits, which only accept single parties, which means it would have been my wife and I, and that's it. While they were probably very good, I didn't want that setting. Prefer there to be a few others to socialize with. Found several.

I have all this written down in my notes, but off the top of my head I recall Somerby Safaris was the first I met with. Also met with Licrombe, Warthog, and Kirabo. In addition, I got information from Molopo, Kemp, Bergzicht, and Friikie Du Toit, But while I think you probably couldn't go wrong with any of them, there is one which stood out in particular in terms of the facilities. This was Ultimate Safaris. This one is in the Kwazulu-Natal province, and located just south of Kruger National Park. What stood out about it most though, besides being right next door to a place we want to see is the camp. Talk about LUXURIOUS. Wow! They're a newer outfitter, being around since 2007, and recently finished an extension to the camp. Incredible facilities and view.

I have a lot of materials to do through, and still have a time to decide, as we're looking three to four years down the road for this trip but my short list is around five outfitters who appear to meet all the points on my checklist. We are looking at this being both a hunt AND tourism vacation. Being there is so much to see, we'll have to make some decisions regarding which we'll do on the first trip. I say that because it's clear to me this is going to be followed up with at least one more thereafter. Want to see Kruger, Victoria Falls and the Cape. That and a hunt is too much for the two week vacation we can do at this time. Found really lovely places in the East Cape, so I'm thinking perhaps a hunt with a Limpopo outfitter or the one in Kwazulu-Natal, several days photo safari in Kruger and a trip to Victoria Falls for the first trip. And perhaps another in the East Cape, with travel around that province and the cape.

I am really excited about the prospect of doing this. Sharing info with a friend and hunting partner who hadn't really thought of this before, but is becoming intrigued. I think it would be ever better if he and his wife decided to do this as well. It would make for an awesome trip.

When I lived in New York I would go just about every year, big show lots to see, lots of walking. Two days would be better if you had the time. It figured my leopard was on display and I’m now living in Georgia!

You mean LUXURIOUS like this: ;)
