Would you like a Cigar?

IMG_0704.JPG

So a SCI friend bought a box of San Pareil cigars at our Nashville banquet and out of either genuine kindness, or sympathy, gave me the box to smoke. He does not smoke cigars, but was bidding up Chris Barrett. It was 10 cigars and I quit bidding at $300. Lets just say it was spirited bidding. Anyway, I pop one of these guys out about every 4-5 months, and enjoy a true 2 hour cigar. Awesome from first draw to last finger-tip butt. I probably will never buy a box due to cost, but I do enjoy the pleasure of this ultra premium cigar.

Stopped by a Cigar shop that I haven't been too before. The prices were higher for most of my favorites. I get a discount at my regular shop.

I did find some of these rarer beauties. They only allow you to purchase 2 per day.

Pretty awesome. It was a long, good smoke. This one lasted about an hour and forty-five. Like I said, I did not buy because it retails about $50-60 a stick. Is it worth it? Maybe. Very good draw for such a big cigar, even burn, med-bold, with flavor throughout. If you get to Nashville, we’ll go to Primings and I’ll buy you one to try.

If you ever want a creamy delicious Maduro, try the,My Father Le Bijou 1922. It has become my favorite smoke. However, it is about $12 a stick plus tax.

My Saturday night ritual. Grilled Tenderloins, cold beer, a few tasty cigars.

Filets are a "woman's" cut, men eat New Yorks. Just don't admit to drinking Bud Light.
Hmmmmm.......Womens cut?. Good Tenderloins with a Mesquite rub, is mighty fine. Hopefully, my Cigars are manly enough, and no, I don't drink Bud light.

If that’s the case, then I have no problems getting in touch with my feminine side if it involves filets and an awesome stogie like that.

So on a whim I took your advice and bought a box of My Father Le Bijou 1922. I am enjoying the first one tonight while reading all my favorite threads on AH. Must say you recommended a winner. Only about half way done but already enjoying silky smooth draw, and wonderful flavor. Thx again for the tip. Probably would never have smoked one except by accident.

Nice! Buying by the box, gets a better price per stick. I saw a few cigar reviews on the Le Bijou a while back, and I thought I would try one. I'm glad I did. The entire My Father line is pretty good. I always get a couple when I stop by the cigar shop for my weekend sticks.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Speaking of Maduros, I tried a CAO Flathead 660 Carb last weekend. It was rated #3 in 2015, by Cigar aficiando magazine. It's a beefy box press, and very robust. I really enjoyed it.
I have always been a fan of the CAO Brazilia, but had never tried the CAO flathead before.

La Palina Black Label tonight... I forgot how much I enjoy that stick... it’s been a few years since I last had one... was a very nice smoke..

I’m headed to Saudi Arabia in a couple of days for work.. there’s a nice little La Casa De Habana in Dharhan that I always visit when I make Saudi trips... I’ll be picking up a couple of boxes of H.Upmann Half Corona while I am there...

HUHC is probably my all time favorite summer time smoke

It's a great cigar. I have to be in the mood but it's great when I am. I have some in the humidor.

I'm going to pick up another one when I stop by the Cigar shop. It was pretty good.

A couple weeks ago, I smoked a Flor Dominicana Double Ligero, when I got home from work. It had been a stressful week, and I was tired. That Cigar absolutely kicked my butt. Double Ligeros are very strong, and I picked the wrong one to smoke that day. LOL

I have never had one of those. I will see if my local shop has them in stock.

This is what youre looking for...

Theyre typically in the $10-$11 range in most B&M shops.. but can be found online with most of the major/big national retailers like Cigars International or Famous closer to the $8 range per stick.. I used to keep a box on hand all the time and kept them in regular rotation.. but for whatever unknown reason stopped buying them a couple of years ago.. I've still got a handful left in the cabinet that I uncovered a couple of weeks ago.. so I smoked one last night..

The red labels arent bad either if you prefer habano wrappers over an oscuro wrapper
