I have since found out from RUAG

The 10,3 has its own diameter which is exactly 10,51mm so 0,413 in inch.

So you can´t use bullets with .404 or .416 diameter.

This dimension is also given in the CIP-datasheet as G1.

looking at chamber dimensions.
so we talk the same language, the paralell part in front of the case i am calling freebore.
the tapered part in front of the freebore i am calling the throat.
this may be incorrect terminology, so i thought i should define my language.
G1 (10.52) seems to be diameter of the freebore.
freebore is usually a little bigger than bullet and groove diameter, to allow for ease of chambering.
F (10.25) looks like bore diameter as opposed to groove diameter.
Z, i cannot come to grips with.
these are min spec for chamber.
the cartridge drawing shows max spec for bullet, G1, to be 10.51, giving a min clearance of 0.01mm between bullet and freebore.
this would suggest a groove diameter (and bullet diameter?) of 10.51 = 0.41378".
what that translates to in the real world god only knows.
bruce.

Confusing and possibly dangerous to say the least. Why they just don't call it a 10.5 is beyond me.

I hope you can get the projectiles in aus

the bullet diameter is 10.51mm or 0.414", that information is from RWS themselves although the CIP drawing show the groove diameter for the barrel to be 10.49mm or 0.413".

the number for barrel groove diameter would be min spec.
meaning that groove diameter is o.413 or bigger.
bullet diameter is max spec. meaning the bullet is that diameter or smaller.
maybe in the middle the two meet just nicely.
you can fire a 0.001" oversize cored bullet safely.
bruce.

From a mate today,he advises...

LW make a barrel for the 10.3 with a 1 in 17.7 twist rate for the 10.3x60R which is the same twist rate as for the 10.3x68, in other words you can get an unchambered and unprofiled barrel from LW.

Wow i would not have imagined that would be the twist rate. If i had the money I'd be there with you on this build.

Keenly watching how she goes.

WHAT CAN I DO TO RECOVER MY STOLEN BITCOIN? CONSULT THE HACK ANGELS

I couldn't believe my eyes when my 2.4 million dollars was recovered. I’m truly grateful for their service and I feel it is right that I put this out here for anyone who might require their services.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
