Burkina faso terror attack

My self and several other members are looking into hunting in B F. A terror attack occurred last night in the capitol city. Apparently the French Embassy was bombed. Significant casualties. Everyone be aware of this if your planning a hunt there or in Benin.

I believe the French Embassy attack was back in March. Recent event was a few days ago, military guys hit a mine or IED and several killed. BF seems to have more issues than Benin.

Yes I didn't realize that was from March. But I think there was also an occurrence near the Mali border recently. In any event if we book this hunt it will be for February of 2020. Lots can happen by then...Both good and bad.

Plenty can happen in a month, never mind a year and change.

There have been several attacks in recent times. An unfortunate reality in much of Africa. One can only wait and see what happens and then decide if its worth the risk. I always contend that the most dangerous part of travel is getting to the airport from your home.

US State Dept has it listed as "reconsider travel", just one step below or less than stay home. I note too that CAR is level 4, don't go. Scary times. Probably about like the south side of Chicago, not going there either!

I have heard about the north and in the capital attacks but a road bomb in the south near the hunting areas is concerning. I did read that since the bombing on the 28th, they have arrested 60 people. So at least they are taking it seriously.

It may never get better, no real reason why it should. One must just then weigh the risks and go or not. There are other places to go but if you look at the danger zones, it covers most of Africa to one degree or another. All the places we would go are flagged at one level or another. So is America. Having said that I surely dont relish the idea of getting kidnapped by terrs and having my head sawed off live on YouTube!

My head may not be that pretty but I do want to keep it. Lol. Yes for sure we need to weigh the risks. If this hunt does happen ( all depends on my wife’s health) I’ll go by what my PH recommends. Your a lot closer than we are so you need to choose wisely.

USA is a big place as are most of these countries, but there are many places in USA I would not go... ever. That being said none of those places are close to good hunting grounds.
