well after 3 years of pushing it off I finally decided to book my safari. Me and by beautiful bride to be are going to hunt cruiser safaris in May of 2019. I know it is a long ways away but I am just so excited. I've booked a 10 day hunt with 3 of those days dedicated to other activities. Just so happy to finally have the days set in stone. Any tips I may want to know before going? I've read almost every thread on this sight but would love some tips from some veteran hunters

Congrats on the booking!

Pack less than you think you need, practice off sticks, make sure your boots are broken in, keep a journal.... enjoy every minute of it!!

Congrats! I'm not a "veteran hunter" by any means but I'd say a good tip would be to set aside a little "extra" from what you think you will need for trophies. Africa has a way of turning a Baboon hunt into a Civet hunt in the blink of an eye! Just a tip that helped me out, and as the others have said break in your boots, break in your rifle and break in yourself! Mind if I ask what trophies your going for?

Congrats on booking your trip! Cruiser's is a great outfit for a first safari!

Pack less is right! I needed a cargo ship the first time. Now, if I wasn't taking guns and ammo, I could do a ten day hunt with one carry-on and a small backpack.

Take more pictures, take pictures of everything.

Congrats! You and your bride are going to have the time of your life (y)

I have tried to heed this sage advice. Every time I get home I wish I had taken more pictures! So, keep a camera close at hand and easily accessible all the time. You’ll still wish you had taken more pics though...

Congratulations. Enjoy your hunt!

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
