I am selling my 404 Jeffery built on Winchester pre 64 Model 70 action. It is stocked in a D'arcy Echols Lengend synthetic stock that has been "Hydro dipped". The rifle was built for me by Tip Burns, an outstanding gunsmith in Texas. It has a 23" barrel, a barrel band front sight and a single leaf rear sight. It has a barrel band sling swivel base and 3 position safety. All metal is matte finish. The LOP is 13 3/4" and weighs approximately 8.5 pounds.

Asking $3,750 shipped to lower 48. Only to California if allowed.

Oh if only I wasn't broke. Good luck.

Thanks Clayton. It really is a fine rifle and accurate, shooting 380 gr North Forks.

I replaced the original Winchester factory stock because the grip was so closed that the trigger guard bruised my finger when I shot it.

The D'Arcy Echols Legend cured that problem and also lessened the felt recoil somewhat.

Them old Model 70s will do that. Especially shooting off the bench. I had a .375 H&H once that tried to cripple me.

That is one beautiful rifle.

It's a good looking rifle! And you say that is a synthetic stock?

I was thinking the same thing! Great looking rifle! Should sell easily

That gun is sweet! Never would have guessed it was synthetic!

It appears to have extra holes in the side of the receiver. Is that just from the digital effect?

Sestoppelman,

The action I used for the 404 build was "ported" when I bought it.

You don't "port" an action. You mean it was drilled and tapped for a side scope mount I assume. Its hard to see and I would bet most didn't notice it, you should have mentioned it.

I'm reducing the price of the rifle to $3,250

It's a great buy at that.

the rifle looks great and is a fantastic Caliber as well

At $2,750 I will include a Nikon Monarch 3 1x4x20 scope in Warne QD rings that were on the rifle in addition to the reloaded rounds of 380 gr North Forks and all the spent cases that i have.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
