I don't think we need worry too much. Hunters visiting Africa are generally travel savvy and intelligent people. They will do decent research and hunt with respectable companies with good guides. If not, I'd suggest that they do. You can have thousands of ph's, only the good ones with a decent reputation will sell safaris.

The scary part of the reality that I have witnessed is that there are still many people who do zero research and get taken in by a smooth salesman. Not that any Zanu PF are likely to be showing up at SCI any time soon.

This is true, people really need to research the operators and hunters better, it will prevent lots of issues like the Cecil debacle and many others.
