No lottery ticket needed. Just save your coins every way possible. $50 a week adds up!

i think ill get a job as a greeter at wal-mart,by the time im 80 i should be ready.

Edward you could do the greeter job and work a second at The Golden Arches and do this hunt in half the time.

im going to really think about this.

At this point Charlie an elephant hunt is most likely out of the question without some divine intervention. I for the most part being a blue collar worker have probably done more hunting than I should of. Most of my adult life I saved a few dollars every week after paying bills etc. I guess I've done ok judging by my trophy room all things considered. I'll be 58 this year and will continue to hunt as long as I can afford to. But I'm afraid African safaris will become limited in the next few years. If I can shoot my leopard and a few plains game this year and then in 2017 hunt either buffalo and plains game or lion with Pieter I'll be happy. It's up to the good lord.

I hear you Johnny

I thought you could not start as a Wal Mart greeter unless you are at least 80

Charlie I've said it before, but you impress me with how methodically you are apparently achieving and checking off your hunting goals! I admire your consistency and perseverance!

I do have to bite my tongue on the lottery ticket thing.

Sweet at $50 a week in 17.3 years I'm ready! Think they will hold the price? HA!

Great deal though!

Why bite the tongue on the lottery thing? I'm curious

Johnny because i tend to tick people off and get myself in trouble! But as you asked.... The lottery is an intelegence tax. Play it for fun if you can afford it, but don't use it as a way to fund the things you want. It takes money from those who need it the most. How often do you hear about millionaires winning it?

Your money will work 24 hours per day for you if you tell it to... Invest, even modestly, and it adds up. If your not comfortable investing, at least save up. There was a post on here way back about saving like $300 per month and how it budgeted out for a nice PG hunt and taxidermy over a reasonable amount of time. It was one of the first I read on AH so remember the point if not the exact post. I believe it was from an outfitter so yea he was selling his program but he made a lot of sense. The time it took to save up was not a lot more tnatgood planning takes... I think his point was that if you want to hunt Africa, it is doable for most average folks with planning and prioritizing.

If you want to have numbers to play with, try putting a budget together. Track your expenses and you might be surprised. In the USA the tax system is set up for the average citizen to be able to just fill outa simple form without much record keeping. That keeps the economy flowing as peoplecan spend without really keeping track...How is that?

Now Johnny, if I recall ccorrectly you have a very impressive trophy room so you must do a lot right!

Living life like a lion for 1 day is better than living life like a jackal for 100 years.
