Who is going where this year?

How far you think you will be able to shoot out to with your bow?I have friends in new mexico that can do 80 yds with no trouble.I am not much good past 50yds.

going by the way the wind was up top , when we at the east cape , you will be doing very well to shoot 80 metres with a bow........

As bluey says the wind will be an issue in some circumstances up high.
Up and down hill practice will be a big deal. Proper form, etc.

My idea is to use terrain to get close.

Out to 75 my bow shoots flat enough and fast enough.

Just have to make sure the travel and temperature change does not screw with the bow too much.
I have had some issues in the past.
Thankfully, I'll have plenty of time to practice and retune before it sees the mountains. :)

Back out to the EC with KMG and Marius, will have to deconflict both our schedules and haven't quite made up my mind about what to chase yet ... how is that for a very loose plan?

I think that is one of the nice things that happen. After you go a few times see what africa has you learn to just go with the flow of the hunt.
I always go with wanting certain animals but each trip I have learn to take any gift animal that happens to walk out in front of me.

I figured Bossie was asleep... :)

With the big drop in fuel prices it's comforting to know that airfare is still staying high! Purchased round trip tickets from Idaho Falls Id. to Joburg via Atlanta, been shopping quite some time and $2098 was the best I could do.

I don't graduate from college until mid May. I'm not sure I have time this year. I certainly try to if something works out.

Sounds like you will owe yourself a graduation present. You never need a reason for a hunt, but that's a damn good one if you do. (y)

I will be headed over to the NW Province then into the EC in March with Loodt and Tootabi. Lioness is on the menu up north then we will be headed south. I will be bungee jumping at Face Adrenaline (750 foot bridge) and Great White Shark cage diving in Mossell Bay. I call it the Triple Threat Package or the SEAL (death from Sea Air and Land) Package. After that we will be headed back to Loodt's place to hunt baboon and warthog for sure. Kudu and bushbuck are always an option and I am working on my wife to collect a nice sable. Of course anything other game is possible.

I'm heading to New Zealand with Ann for 3 weeks in April with Wilderness Quest. Red Stag and Tahr for me. Brown trout for Ann. And some sightseeing on both islands. Hope to get back to Africa in 2016.

my wife and daughter had a the time of their lives over there with wilderness quest.

looking forward to reading about this trip .........(y)(y)

im going to hunt in Zambia next year , sable is on top of the list , with either an archery croc or blue duiker ,bush buck and a couple of others .
followed by some tiger fishing .
havnt booked the dates or flights yet , by the end of feburary it will be a date .

im suddenly worried that trout fishing wont ever be the same again , as its the only fishing l do where lm satisfied to catch one fish at a time ,but after wrestling with them tiger fish , who knows

The wife and I are heading to New Zealand for red stag and elk. We are booked with Alpine Outfitters
