The purpose of this sale is to fund the purchase of a couple special rifles I have found. Preference is for these to be sold as packages, but will sell component packages if I already have a buyer that only wants a rifle, so let me know if you are interested in anything and we will work something out. The 35 Whelen can only go after 1 of the others is sold, so there may be a delayed sale on that. I love this rifle and it is my go to, but 1 of the 2 I want is a 35 as well and more valuable, therefore requiring the sale of 2 of these. It is a modified Ruger factory stock. For a short period they offered a very few of these rifles in the classic grey laminate stock without the stupid spacer system they use now. The previous owner was a bit rough on the checkering and it was mostly gone, plus the stock had aged to a greenish tinge. I removed the checkering, shortened the forend to get rid of the front sling stud plug since it has a barrel band and give it a nicer look, fitted a limbsaver recoil pad, then applied an oil finish which darkened it to the charcoal color it is now.
