It's almost been 6 months since I had put this Remington721 .375 H&H Mag on layaway and now I finally got it paid off!
The seller wasted no time getting it packaged and dropped off at the UPS in Florida to be shipped here to my FFL in Eastern Ohio.
Picked up the gun yesterday and felt like Christmas morning to get it home, check for any issues with it, and then took it out on my back porch to make some noise in the neighborhood!
Everything went great!

Approximately 5 months ago I had bought Nosler 300gn Accubond, and after tax n shipping costs it came to a 100 bill.
and WOW that gun kicks like a mule and can put a man in the poor house quite quickly at 5.00 every time a chunk of lead is sent screaming out that barrel at an average of 2,400 fps

I just got done with a budget build Savage110 .416 Rem Mag and it doesn't kick as much as this Remington721 .375 H&H Mag.
I'm guessing it's because the Savage 416 Rem Mag has a heavier barrel and a muzzle brake.

Well everything did go great with shooting the .375 H&H Mag BUT there is the issue of not being any sights on the gun.
It does have scope mounts on it but I'm not wanting to spend extra money for a scope just to get punched in the eye lol
I want what is practical for me which is iron sights whereby I'm just shooting this gun with friends and family in my back yard that's around 50 yards from the porch to the woods

The following pictures have Winchester model 70 deluxe rear and front sight next to the gun but I'm wanting to find the original sights to put on it.
And so I'm sending a shout out for anyone who can tell me with certainty as to what sights would of came on this gun, and please provide some pictures of them and provide any other information including part/model numbers for the sights.

REMINGTON 721 SERIAL NUMBER: 1 1 2 9 8 2
Its located on front left side of the action/receiver and is shown down below in the pictures.
And no, there are no letters in the serial number which I was shown is odd since Remington apparently use to put letter(s) in the serial number of all their earlier guns in order to represent the year of its manufacturing.
So what year is this gun based on the serial number and any of its characteristics?

NOTE:
Right, the barrel is not original to the gun.
The barrel is stamped with "APEX MATCH GRADE"
This would have replaced the original Remington barrel upon the gun being converted to the .375 H&H Mag

I have a 721 but in 300 H&H, great rifles for the price. I'm taking mine to South Africa this year to hunt Plains Game. :) Good luck with yours.

There are sights all over eBay for sale. There is a nice Williams Receiver sight on there right now!

Do yourself a favor. For under $30 can get a PAST recoil pad that slips on your shoulder. Helps a lot and eill take away the punch while you get familiar with it.

With all due respect to you, please do all of us a favor ....
There's no need for captain-obvious advice.
EVERYONE knows they can make changes to their butt pad to reduce recoil.
Even beginners are perceptive enough to know what a butt pad does and that it can be modified for added comfort.

My post makes clear that I'm just needing information for what year this gun is, and what are the original sights that would have came on the gun before it was re-barrelled.

Thank you :)

then you should know you can go to google or you tube and type in remington 721 rifle serial numbers and specks to find the date and what the sights look like. not every body is a expert and advice can be taken or ignored.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
