Two Gold-medal Stags, Hungary

Do you have a link to your hunt report? I’m having trouble finding it.

Who was the outfitter?

Thank you, Sabre. Pannovad is who I hunt with in Hungary, and soon to be in Romania too.

I really like those plaques. I feel like the US could take some cues from that area of the world when it comes to plaques for euro mounts and tusks on plaques.

Great stags, congrats !

Well done, those are two great stags. You will be hard pressed to find better red stags in Europe than Hungary.

Hi Russ16 - I hunted w Pannonvad. Great outfit, headed to Carpathians with them in October 2025, which will be my third hunt w them.

We should probably visit offline more about your future plans. I would like to hear more about it and the outfitter. I'm looking for something like you are describing for future hunts on numerous species.
Please send me a DM and we can arrange a time to talk. Pannonvad has an almost nonexistent media presence. Best / R

Thanks. Please post a report after your next hunt. I’m going to be in the carnations first week of November. I’m booked through the hunting consortium. I look forward to hearing how you do.

Congrats on two great animals. Would love to see some up close pictures of the detail in the wood carving.

great stags well done. I am on my way to Hungary in November, bow hunting Wild boar but if a good stag presents maybe the old credit card will have to do the heavy lifting.

If any of you subscribe to Sporting Classics magazine, an essay about my hunt was just published in the Sept/Oct edition. I hope it meets with the approval of my fellow hunters. I leave in a few weeks for Transylvania, for bear and chamois, and look forward to sharing a hunt report.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
