Made some drunken bids on RIA and ended up with an Heym in 375 H&H along with Chapuis in 375 as well. Super excited! I should have them in my hands in a couple of weeks. Will post some pics. I just arrived in San Diego and leaving tomorrow for a 4 day trip looking for Bluefin. It’s looking like a great week.

Care to adopt a 62 year old? I got most of my issues worked out already

Ohh you a hole! I was actually trying to bid on those as well but I had my upper limits of what I wanted to spend. Honestly if you end up hating the chapuis and decide to get rid of it, let me know. :) I was looking for something smaller and cheaper ammo/less recoil to shoot for practice besides my two 450-400 doubles. Both of those really had my interest.

On a side note, it's cool that those two guns went to someone on this forum.

I ended up with a Merkel 500 Nitro the same way off Gunbroker a while ago

What is RIA? I need to keep an eye on more sites for rifles.

Congrats on the wins!

So a bluefin and two doubles.... hmmm you seem to have done ok!

I am heading to Jhb on Monday, a one month stretch. In there is a kudo hunt in the Eastern Cape. Apparently freezing.

Finally had a chance to pick these bad boys up. Reloading tonight and off to the range!

Heym is clearly an 88B. I'm not as familiar with the Chapuis, maybe an X4?

@Skshyk - Congratulations on two beautiful rifles.

I will arrive in Zim July 5th to hunt Leopard and buffalo with Wayne. But not taking neither one of these as have I have been practicing with my Heym 500 and Blaser. Super excited as it’s my first free range Africa trip.

The Chapuis shot great groups with functioned perfectly. Unfortunately the Heym has issues. The firing pins seem to get stuck after firing and breaking the rifle was very difficult.

Send it to JJ Perodeau and he'll do whatever is necessary to make it a trustworthy rifle. (And never ever do the math of the rifle, RIA buyers' premium, shipping, and repair).

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
