My friend, Baz, has passed away after complications from an open heart operation (stemming from Golden Staph infection in the heart valves).

Baz had 1 open heart op late last year. He passed on Sunday 4th March 2023 after his second open heart operation. He gave me my Ruger 77 Mark 2 rifle in 25/06 which I'm taking to Tasmania for a fallow deer hunt next week.
I also used his Weatherby 460 many years ago.

Very sad!

Thank you everyone.

Very sad!
I've known Baz for about 30 years. Incredible shot!

My condolences to you, always hard to lose a good friend

Sorry for your loss, @Dr Ray Make sure you make your friend, Baz, proud when you use that 25/06 in Tasmania.

Sorry for your loss, but 25/06 will keep his memory alive. He will be looking down with a smile.

I am so very sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathy. The loss of a dear friend takes a piece of our hearts with them when they leave us. Sue

The wonderful thing about a departed friend's or relative's gun is that we have a continuing connection to them. Whether hunting that deer, or sitting up with it and an oily rag while sipping a single malt, death seems no quite so final.

You have my sincerest condolences, but I suspect he will not be far.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
