Hunting reports
Africa

My wife and I along with several good friends are headed back to South Africa to hunt with Beast and Bird Africa in May. The PH is Jonathan Morris, we picked Jonathan as we had the pleasure to meet him on our last safari. We have been through the paperwork process before and should not be an issue. We will be bringing our own rifles, my wife shoots a Remington 30-06 with 180 gr bullet, I shoot a Weatherby chambered in .300 win-mag with 180 gr bullet, and both will have the Omega 300 suppressor. We have hired a professional film crew to document 2 days of our hunt which should be interesting but a life long memory. I will be back to post pictures if a few months once we return. I'm only posting this to share our experience not to debate rifles, grain of bullet, outfitter or anything else you want to debate. If you have questions please ask as I am happy to share information with you.

Have a great trip! Good luck.

Congrats on booking, good luck, will be watching for the hunt report.

Sounds like a good time. I am a big .30 cal fan as well. Have you brought that omega 300 into SA before?

Best of luck. Just make sure you get the ATF form to take the suppressor.

Good luck, and safe travels!

Enjoy your hunt. I look forward to your hunt report.
Thanks for sharing

Happy hunting!!!

How'd it go?? I hope to hunt with Jonathan next year.

Was there an extra step for bringing the suppressor? From what I can tell, it's just a form 1140-0010

My apologies, I meant to say let us know how it goes. Not sure what I was thinking and can't seem to edit it.

Have a great trip and good luck!

Best of luck. Always exciting to be heading to Africa!

I had the same question on the suppressor. We are going next year and I’d love to take my suppressor but I’ve heard it’s a pain. I’ve also been told a good suppressor can be bought in SA for $300.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
