Picking through the Guyette & Deeter auction catalogue; interesting lots:

lot 222: Chapuis double rifle in 30-06. Not sure that this is a particularly useful calibre/ rifle combination for anything other than a European driven game shoot. Note that although the rifle comes with Recknagel claw mounts, the 'scope is missing. Replacing that will be expensive - why do people do this? Cheap bugger. Est. $5,000 - $8,000

lot 370: Winchester pre-64 Model 70 Alaskan in .375 H&H Magnum. Americans seem to rate these rifles very highly. Est. $2,000- $3,000

lot 383: Remington Model 700 in 7mm Remington Magnum. Comes with a Zeiss 'scope which - ceteris paribus - is probably worth the same as the rifle (ie. either buy the rifle and get the 'scope for free, or buy the 'scope and get the rifle for free). Est. $600 - $900

Otherwise, it all looks rather expensive.

That 505 is a great deal. Just look around, no 505s.

I would look for a new bolt. If you have a ruptured primer the gas could vent along the bolt.

If that is a 505 Gibbs done by the CZ Custom Shop, with sights and barrel band sling swivel, recoil reducer in the stock. Upgraded wood. That is a VERY good deal

For those in Europe. Second-hand Krieghoff Hubertus in 308Win, with a recent price drop to under 5000EUR INCLUDING Swarovski Z8i 3.5-28x50SR. The scope alone will set you back around 3500EUR new. This rifle has been out for sale for a while and it seems the owner has lost patience and is willing to take a loss. I would have bought it myself if I didn't have two kipplaufs already.

Guys, here is a very nice looking BSA 7x57 Mauser, just like the little beauty I have. Only difference is that it has the standard stock and mine is the lightweight with schnable.
Sights are missing but should be easy to replace. Excellent price!!
Will probably kick myself for putting it here, so someone better snag it. I paid a lot more for mine than this is set for.
