We have had hunts going in Unit 1 back to back since early April.
My wife and I have just returned from a few weeks hunting with clients and wanted to start a running report.
I have spent over eighteen months on the ground hunting in Zim since 1995 but this was only my wifes second trip to Zim and her first experience with an elephant hunt. It is so exciting to share an experience and area you love with someone you love.
We had a return client that wanted his second buffalo and waterbuck, beyond that he was open to suggestions and took another impala and nice warthog.
Another client in camp with us was also a repeat that had only tusk less on his wishlist. He spent nine days glassing over several hundred elephant and was getting a little discouraged on the prospect of finding a tusk less. On day nine we scored.
We have taken thirteen buffalo, five elephant, the one lion we have on quota as well as a myriad of plains game to include five sable. As I get pictures forwarded me from clients I will be sure to post.
Here are a few I have from the trip that my wife and I just returned from .
PH Calvin Nobrega and 32 Inch Waterbuck
PH Tini Kok client and an Old worn down tip bull
Warthog
Zebra
Very old waterbuck
Impala
Nice hard bossed bull
Myself (R) and client with a day nine tusk less
We made a trip into Vic Falls and happen to run into a few old friends. Tim Ellement and his brother Marc as well as Martinus, (Tini) Kok and Guav Johnson, all PH's. We were all able to get
together for a great time at the Vic Falls Safari Lodge.
PH Guav Johnson, Valerie and clients from Oklahoma enjoying dinner.
As more photos roll in I will be sure to post.
