We’ve herd all of nothing on Courteney Boots but what about shoes?

Good afternoon, just as the title we all here on the forum have herd discussions on Courteney boots, some like and some don’t, but doing some research on the shoes “Bushveld” and “Highveld” there’s not really much discussion on them. So I’ve been looking into a pair of the two, and wanted to see if there were any AH members that may have a pair that could chime in and answer a few questions Like Is there any difference in the Bush and Highveld? And how do they fit compared to the safari and selous models, I know I were a half size larger in the selous than I do my safaris, just want some input and feedback from folks who have actually worn them.

I can't comment on the Courteney. I plan on getting a pair in April when I go back to SA. In the meantime, I love my Jim Green Ranger Boots. So much I purchased a second pair to put back! If you haven't, check them out!

I enjoy my safaris, recommend getting a good orthotic insole for them, and wear, brush the dirt off, and condition repeat every day untill that saddle soap that comes with a pair is gone, @Rare Breed advised me on this and “IT WORKS” just want to pick up a pair of shoes for work, office.

I have a pair of the kudu suede vellies.
I mostly wear them in semi casual, semi dress situations. They kinda remind me of the old Bass suede bucks.

Been wearing a pair of Jim Green Shoelies to work the past couple of months. I've been very pleased with them.

Yes, I have a couple of pair of the Bushveld and have used them in Mozambique where ankle support is a lot less important than comfort walking miles upon miles. The photo below is from 10 years ago and they are still going strong. A quality set of gaiters is essential, otherwise their is little to stop grass seeds and debris from making your day miserable.

I should note that if wearing them to Mozambique determine ahead of time whether are not you will be entering the actual swamp. For that there are better choices.

I'm a fan of custom / tailored safari wear.

It's just very difficult to find someone that can do it.

I wear a pair of Courtney Ndunas everyday they are my favorite boot/shoe I have ever owned

I don’t have any experience with the bushvelds, highvelds, shoellies, or vellies but I wear my rangers about 70% of the time. Enough that I recently had them resoled and put a denser vibram sole on to hopefully stop some thorns. Most comfortable boots/shoes I have ever worn.

I’ve had good experience with the vellie model but all the other just seem big and bulky to me. I have an older pair (before ownership change) of Russell moccasin ph with the rubber sole that are the only boot I’ll ever where in africa again. Wouldn’t be the choice of wetness is encountered but in the mostly dry hunting conditions I’ve been it they have been perfect….and they are super quiet for stalking.
