I got this rifle in a trade from Michael Merker of MMRifleMakers. The barrel is an original A-Sqaure rifle that was owned by a General, who wanted to rebarrel his Hannibal model to 458 winchester and Michael saved the barrel. He then put the barrel on this 1917, and as far as I know the rifle has only been shot once or twice! The scope is an older Leupold, but not sure of the exact model.

This rifle has a 22" barrel with a 1:10" twist. This causes the bullet to be extremely accurate and penetrate the target deeper than any other .458, as said by Art himself in his book.

There are some imperfections to the stock of this rifle, with the gash being the worst and rest being pressure related or a light scrape.

I'm looking to trade this rifle and I want to see what's out there. A 404 Jeffery would be ideal, but I'm open to any offers. Let me know what you've got and any questions you have I'll do my best to answer them. I might even sell it out right for the right offer.

I picked up another project and need this gone to fund it.
$2700 takes it and if you're near Arkansas I'd be more than happy to meet you.

'Any brass, dies and/or ammo??

these guns typ go for $2K+/- sans any scope. 'saw a very high quality A-Sq go for $2.4K (with ammo, brass, dies-as most are hard to come by these days!) As there will also be an FFL dealer involved on both ends, they can help verify the merchandise (and have "skin in the game,") prior to purchase...

Sadly no, I don't have any reloading equipment or supplies with the rifle (I would love to shoot it myself). Michael Merker would be happy to verify the rifle and I'm fine using any FFL that would make both the buyer and I comfortable.

Was that rifle a 460 Short A-Square as well? I haven't been able to find much outside of this rifle available.

I read an older thread that mentioned you having some 9.3x64 brass. Do you still have some? I am looking for 100 pcs, maybe 200.
