Using Barnes XXX FB 300 Grain Bullets for Kitty Cat??

I would think the Woodleigh would be good for leopard or lion.

congrats , and the buff?

Thanks! See attached. I ended up taking the Cape with the same Barnes bullet (300 grainer) from the 375 H&H. One shot in the boiler-room with the Barnes and he was down from about 10 yards where I shot him. His leg was kicking a bit when we approached so I put a few more in for insurance. I ended up just taking the Dakota 375 on this trip and leaving the 470 NE for my next hunt - Elephant Bull in 2015.

The leopard was a frontal chest shot taken with very little light left (props to the Swarovski Z6 with the illuminated reticle!). He wasn't "dead under the tree" so we had a bit of a night-time follow up to do (which was, to say the least, one of the most "interesting" experiences I've been through). We found the cat dead about 20 yards from the tree. The shot came out about 2-3 inches off of his spinal column in the back (you can see the exit wound in the photo). He must have been sitting a bit off-center to me (with his rear to my left) as the shot went directly into the middle of his chest - thus I didn't spine him.

I also took a hippo with the Barnes 300 as well. It was a side brain shot at about 80 yards. Add to that 5 impala (leopard bait) and a pair of baboon. I didn't get a crack at any other plains game as it was incredible thick this time of year in the Zambezi Valley. We sat in a hyena blind 2 nights and mornings with no success.

The Dakota 76 375 HH with the Barnes 300 Triple Shock will forever be my favorite go to rifle!!!:)

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
