Cameroon Travel Warning
SCI members planning travel arrangements to the African countries of Cameroon and Lesotho should be aware of recent United States Department of State travel warnings to each.

Travelers to Cameroon are advised by the State Department to avoid all travel to the Far North regions of the country. U.S. Citizens are warned of the high risk of travel to Cameroon and the Far North region due to the terrorist group Boko Haram’s activities and their targeting of expatriates. Coordinated attacks on two compounds in Kolofata resulted in the kidnapping of government leaders and their families and several clergy kidnapped from the region. The U.S, Embassy urges extreme caution when traveling. The travel warning also extends to bordering countries Nigeria, Chad and the Central African Republic.

Lesotho Travel Warning
The Department of State is also warning U.S. citizens to defer travel to Lesotho due to concerns over a possible deterioration of the security situation there. Following a violent confrontation between police and the army, leaders of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) have publicly stated that the LMPS is not capable of performing its duties and are not conducting normal police security functions.

Its just keeps getting better and better right? Sheesh! With the massive increase in Ebola cases projected for next year, it may not be safe to travel anywhere in Africa! Not to mention the spread of radical Islamists running around cutting peoples heads off. Think tourists wont be targeted?

That is crazy about Lesotho!

Looks like SA is an island of tranquility compared to the rest of the continent

The one country I have not gotten to travel in Southern Africa is Lesotho and I always heard great things about the people and the country as a whole. That is sad to see but really not surprising knowing africa.

I would strongly recommend that no one leave their house. You may get run over by a bus or trip on the door jam as you exit.

ffs.

I know what ffs means! It was the favorite expression of the late PH Willie Englebrect. LOL!

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.
