Three men injured in leopard attack
Three men were injured when a leopard attacked them on the farm #Goabeb in the Usakos district yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place around 17:00 when Mr. Ezekiel Titifo (48) looked after goats in the field.
"He was attacked by the leopard and bitten on the left arm when he wrestled to save a goat from the leopard's jaws," reads a police report.
"Tififo was able to call his friends at home with his cellphone. When his friends, Messrs. Frans // Garoeb (39) and Enrico! Goraseb (40), arrived, they were also attacked by the leopard. "
According to the report,! Goraseb sustained serious injuries to his head and right arm, while // Garoeb has an open wound after being bitten on the head.
All the victims were taken to the Usakos State Hospital for medical treatment and are in a stable condition.
Mr. Colgar Sikopo, deputy executive director of the department of natural resources management in the ministry of environment and tourism, confirmed that he had heard about the incident last night. Nature conservation officials will investigate the incident today.

Die voorval het omstreeks 17:00 plaasgevind toe mnr. Esegiel Titifo (48) bokke in die veld opgepas het.
“Hy is deur die luiperd aangeval en aan die linkerarm gebyt toe gestoei het om ‘n bok uit die luiperd se kake te red,” lui ‘n polisieverslag.
“Tififo kon daarin slaag om sy vriende by die huis met sy selfoon te bel. Toe sy vriende, mnre. Frans //Garoeb (39) en Enrico !Goraseb (40), opdaag, is hulle ook deur die luiperd aangeval.”
Volgens die verslag het !Goraseb ernstige beserings aan sy kop en regterarm opgedoen, terwyl //Garoeb ‘n oop wond het nadat hy op die kop gebyt is.
Al die slagoffers is na die Usakos-staatshopsitaal vir mediese behandeling geneem en is in ‘n stabiele toestand.
Mnr. Colgar Sikopo, adjunk- uitvoerende direkteur van die departement natuurlike hulpbronnebestuur in die ministerie van die omgewing en toerisme, het bevestig hy het gisteraand van die voorval verneem. Natuurbewaringbeamptes sal vandag die voorval ondersoek.
