Things I can't imagine living without

I would not go back to life without certain things I have come to love and depend on.
1. Air compressor--and the resultant various nail guns (I know a carpenter who hasn't swung an actual hammer in 20 yrs.), and of course, all things pneumatic.
2. Pressure washer--don't know what took me so long, very multi-functional.
3. Drill Doctor 300--Yes, "as seen on TV" but I have resharpened hundreds of drill bits dozens of times to perfection. Has paid for itself many times over.
4. High quality cordless drills--the kind you can do a whole deck with. Sweet. (strangely the best one so far was a lifetime warranty Hitachi)

I am probably overlooking a whole bunch of stuff, but you can fill in the gaps.
IOW, "Your turn" to share with us things that will save us all a lot of time/money/headaches.

As much as I hate to say it, and I truly think that they are the bane of society, a smartphone.

But on a positive note, I would say my Makita track saw. How anyone can think ripping plywood with a table saw is a smart idea, I’ll never understand.

There are a lot of electronics I need to give a whirl--I hear great things about Airtags to track luggage, for example....but I can't recommend what I haven't tried.

How about a DIAMOND WHETSTONE to keep it sharp--and they stay flat forever.

I was around 6 or 7 years old when I asked my dad how to sharpen a knife. He showed me how to put a razor edge onto just about any knife, I keep all my knifes just as sharp as that today.

Any more I get lazy and use the exchange razor blade knife such as Outdoor Edge. If you feel it getting dull swap out the blade for a sharp one. But they still don't replace any of my fixed or fold-able blade knifes.

For @pilar have you tried a utility knife for those sacks? I have one that has a fold able blade and a second one that is a utility blade. That utility blade can be swapped out in less than a minute and I'm not dulling up the main blade.

But as to what I can do without, I have come to enjoy my creature comforts. Power tools and conveniences that age has taught me to use and enjoy. I can still go out and live off of the land with the bare minimum but once I get back to city life I am back to using the modern creature comforts.

I have had airtags save my safari in the past. Asked the united people why my gun case had been sent to a different building than my checked bag. They said identified it as a problem and corrected it - they told me they'd have probably lost my bag otherwise

I tend to be “old school” in most ways and am not quick to adopt new tech but I really like AirTags. For years, I’ve offered to include one when shipping guns to a buyer. Cheap insurance when a carrier can’t locate your package.

A good friend who spends a considerable amount of time in Israel/ME keeps them in his backpack and other luggage. A couple years ago his bedouin driver took off with his pack and drove into the desert. Thankfully his phone was in his pocket and he was able to track the driver to some shithole in the desert thanks to the AirTag. To me, they’re a great piece of kit.

That’s why I like case stockman
3 blades
One for clean stuff like your sandwich
One for game cleaning
And one for utilitie uses.
As far as keeping it sharp
If you use it sharp it that night if for some reason you don’t use it still sharp it on Saturday night.
That way you all ways have a sharp blade for what you need

Honestly a 4 wheal drive.
Normally you don’t need them.
But when you do you need them badly and not much else will work in there place.
