The Resilience Of A Gaur

Another great story and a exciting adventure. The Win 458 got a bad reputation back then due to poor bullets and maybe your friends ammo was junk also.

Jeff , Tobin always used to use .423 Mauser ammunition from the company , RWS . It was a German company , l believe . Thank you so much for being so appreciative .

You can still buy cartridges from RWS , but they are old stocks and are becoming rarer. There are only small factories that produce this ammunition nowadays in Germany. Is a expensive ammo.

Thak you for sharing you and your friends story. Great read.

Out of curiosity, Poton, did Tobin hunt or guide hunts in Bangladesh after the war or did he go back to America?
Tobin went back to Wisconsin in 1972 , Master Smith . However , he would come to visit me once every 2 years. I would go to visit him and his family in America once every year.

Thanks for explaining, it’s sounds like you two were good friends.
He was my best friend and more like an elder brother than a friend . I never grew up seeing my parents , so my maternal grandfather , Tobin and my girl friend ( from 1966 onwards ) were the closest people to me .
He made me a better human being in every way possible and paid for my facial surgery in America after the Liberation War in 1971 . That surgery cost a great deal of money and he never let me repay him ever . If it was not for the support of Tobin and his wife , l would have committed suicide in 1972 , Master Smith . He was a true friend .
