We have friends that are considering a trip to Tanzania. They are not hunters. Their tour company's itinerary includes Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangiri parks. We are considering joining them and doing a pre or post hunting safari. Has anyone traveled to Tanzania and stayed at lodges in these parks while bringing along your firearms for the hunting portion? Other than working with a travel agent or travel with guns is there anything you experienced I should be aware of while we consider this trip for 2025 or 2026. Thanks, John

I am interested in this question as well. The one time I was at Etosha they stated guns were not allowed at all. Not sure if it is possible or you can lock them up at the gate. Thank you in advance for any help someone offers.

I’ve done it twice - ie booked national park tours at the back end of a hunting safari in Tanzania. Share with your PH/operator what you are trying to do. I understand they are required to have safes, and have been able to store the rifles etc. You do have to swing back by on your way out etc.
