Since the forum has already paid homage to the Highland Stalker, let's get a thread going for Rigby's other magazine rifle, The Rigby Big Game. I do not own one but it's now on the short list for 2025.

Let's see some examples from those that own one. What options did you go with? Did you custom configure it from Rigby or purchase it as is from a retailer? What was your overall impression been regarding the Big Game in terms of build quality, functionality, workmanship etc.? Were these rifles ever offered in anything other than 375HH, 416 Rigby & 450 Rigby?

Let's see those big game rifles!

As a rule I’m shy about posting on threads like this, but I’m just so proud and I’m also keen to bury the hatchet with @roverandbrew without having to send him a copy of my -214.

Single Square Bridge, standard grade. Like so many, I got lucky on the wood.

Beautiful rifle and hatchet buried.

Very nice, what is the standard grade wood on these? Grade 5?

Internet has been slow all day in the heart of the Eje Cafetero, but here goes.......

It’s unique for sure. The Highland Stalkers are taking a lighter shade of late, I’ve heard various explanations. It’s still beautiful wood, it’s just not that same red hue.

Purdey says their oil/color is proprietary and they just refer to it as “red goop” I think. Anyway, looks pretty close to the Rigby gun color. My Big Game next to the Purdey looks pretty close.

(Veer.. sorry, I’ll be quick)
BTW, the Mauser M25 will be unveiled in Dortmund next Tuesday.

Is the Mauser 25 a true Mauser or another pushfeed?

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
