I purchased a CZ 550 Safari Classic in .416 Rigby 8 years ago and my gunsmith, as well as another, recommended I purchase a Burris Black Diamond 1.5 x 5 scope for magnum rifles. Burris advertises each is tested 500 or more times for durability/accuracy based upon expected recoil due to special springs between lens. Both gunsmiths have hunted elephant and Cape Buffs, among other African big game, a great number of times over 30 years or longer, using Zeiss, Leupold and other popular big name scopes, but were steadfast in recommending this Burris scope for high powered magnum rifles .375 and above. I placed on a detachable mount and have fired about 60 rounds through it and thus far no problems.
thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
hey bob , new on here. i specifically joined to enquire about a 444 you built on a Enfield 4-1 you built . who did the barrel and what was the twist and profile specs ? look foward to your reply . cheers
