Safari books?

First one I ever read or can remember was

Hemingway's Green hills of Africa. The dialogue alone was worth it to me. Like a well made script for a movie. Then the kudu and sable hunts are superb.

Once I had actually hunted Africa, I realized that Ruark was my favorite author. It was like he took thoughts from my head and put them to paper. I could just tell he got it. He understood what it was all about.

Ruarks Horn of the hunter.
But in truth I read "use enough gun" first. And actually prefer it to horn of the hunter.

I've tried and never thoroughly enjoyed Capstick. I have 5-6 of his books but his style didn't work for me. I know alot of others really enjoy his writing and is part of what got them interested in African hunting.

Some modern books I enjoyed were John Sharps facing down fear. And Buzz Charlton's Tall Tales.

Book I'm still looking for
White hunters - brian herne
Months of the sun - Ian nyschens
