I know sable bulls get darker as they get older and I read somewhere that the sable in Moz don't get as black as those in other countries.

So, are there countries or areas where sable tend to be darker with less brown?

Never hunted them...yet.:D

info

HI, the info you stated is correct. However you probably already know this that cows are very light brown and as you said the bulls get very dark. This also depends on their habitat and vegetation they are eating this all determines their coloration, body and trophy sizes.

regards.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
