How did the decoy work out for you? There was another thread about the use of decoys for Dangerous Game, and I suggested it may be possible, but not recommended.
Helped a buddy from Alberta get this buck in Colorado. It’s over 18” on the drop horn and a little over 16” on the normal horn. Had a client turn this buck down the year before! Might have been a little smaller the year before but not much. I thought the guy was crazy but he wanted a normal looking buck. Would have been the trophy of a lifetime for me.
I love the freaks! No way I would have passed a buck like that up. You can always hunt a typical buck another trip, but the freaks only come along “once in a lifetime”
Wyoming 2025-good numbers of antelope and plenty of bucks. Pictures lose it but he was very symmetrical and had some of everything I look for in an antelope buck. Chip shot with my 28 nosler as he was very preoccupied chasing another buck and he may have even viewed the truck as an interloper to chase off!
We cut a three day hunt to one day due to a death in the family/viewings/funeral.

I shot my first Antelope when I still lived in Colorado in the early '70s. After moving to Montana in 1975 I drew antelope tags almost every year and hunted them here until just a few years ago. I enjoy hunting them and like to eat them.
I shot my first few antelope with my .30-06, a few with my .22-250, one with my 7mm Rem mag, and most with my .257 Ackley. I think that my longest shot at one was 351 yds.
I like their coloration and mounted 7 of them before I finally decided that was enough (and ran out of wall space!)

Did my first ever pronghorn hunt back in August. Got this buck, it was pretty decent for the area I was in. 292 yards with my pre-64 Model 70 30-06, 165 grain Barnes TTSX handload.
We are very excited to come to Salzburg for the first time.
Should you at all have any interest in hunting with me and want to discuss different options please do not hesitate to contact me and we can set something up.
where are you located? I would be happy to help you with you doing the reloading but I will only load for a very few real close friends as posted before liability is the problem. but will help you.
