Political contribution limits- what's the deal?

In Wa State as an individual I'm limited to $2800 maximum per candidate per election, but I read where George Soros has given $1,000,000 to Gavin Newsom for his recall election. So how am I limited to $2800 while someone else can give $1,000,000?

I do this for a living, it is insanely complicated. If you wanted to give a candidate in WA 1m+ dollars, you could hire me to help make that happen, no problem.

Also, there is no chance Soros hasn't give more than a 1m to him, that is a round error for him. I am sure he is in WAY deeper.

The $2800 you are talking about is a federal limit for federal candidate. You state laws is really screwy, I think it goes my the number of reg voters in a district for most of your state level candidates, then a set amount for statewide, which I am pretty sure is still under 2800. But you have a nearly wide open party committee and caucus committee system, those used to be unlimited.
