I really wasn't sure where to put this. It's just an oddity (at least, it seemed that way to me) I saw on GunBroker.

I aspire to own a Big Horn Armory lever gun someday. Currently there are a bunch on GB from one seller, at prices beyond what I want to pay, which, frankly, may always be true. Anyhow, the rifles come advertised with a free hunt with an outfitter that has been discussed on here:

FREE AFRICAN SAFARI WITH KUCHE SAFARIS INCLUDED WITH THIS RIFLE! SAFARI IS FOR 1-HUNTER / 5-DAYS / 3-ANIMALS (IMPALA, BLESBUCK, WARTHOG). SAFARI IS CUSTOMIZABLE WITH ADDITIONAL DAYS AND ANIMALS AVAILABLE. THE CERTIFICATE IS GOOD FOR 3-YEARS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE AND WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU.

Maybe offers like this are more common than I know, and I just happen to live under a rock (rural AK, haha).

Again, just sharing something I saw that caught my eye.

Happy New Year everyone!

Back at you Krish :giggle: . To be fair/clear, I was not trying to, in any way, say anything bad about the seller - I don't know them at all. I was just sharing something that caught my eye. Thanks for pointing that out.

That offer has been around a long time. Not all that surprising when you realize the business model behind it.

Not long ago there was a "no day fees" trend even on here. Also look to the multitude of Auction hunts at SCI... Especially the State Associations. There are several Outfitters, especially from South Africa, who user those as their primary marketing tool. They donate the "hunt", it may include a couple lower cost animals. The marketing plan is to get you there. Put lots of animals in front of you that are available at their list price. Heck they may even offer discounts.

Day fees are cheap in most of South Africa and some other places, Namibia perhaps. The profits are in the animals you shoot.

I wouldn't pay any extra for a gun because of the free safari and I would definitely want to see a full list of costs and price lists associated with that free safari. Then compare that to similar hunts advertised on here. I suspect it will be about even or a better deal from a sponsor on here:)

You get what you pay for (hopefully) and definitely pay for what you get ;)

Zero interest in my part on any sort of deal. Zip, zero, zilch. I do want one of those rifles someday, but all I need is the rifle and the rifle alone. ;)

I assure you I would have shared that irrespective of who was providing the hunt. ;)

You have the wrong person. I have no idea what you are talking about..

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
