Need help choosing between 2 calibers

See post 58. Newer calibers all run this risk.
If you get there and the 80 rounds of ammo that you custom loaded and tested and brought with you disappear, you borrow/rent a rifle from the outfitter... shit happens, you don't have to dumb down your approach to cover a "what if" scenario. This isn't a life or death scenario... most gun nutters want to hunt with their own rifle, but we also want to hunt with our own ammo that we spent hours and $$$ developing and testing. If that can't happen you make do. I have traveled to hunt a heck of alot over the past half century and have never lost ammo, I'm not going to start sweating it now. Build and shoot what you like.

I think that a 300 and a 375 make a great safari battery. A 375 H&H will push a 270 gr. Game at 2800 fps, so you are point blank to about 300 yards with great retained energy. Unlikely that you will be shooting further than that. If need more range use the 300wm. Ammo for either not a problem in Africa (or most places in the free world).

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
Two African Safaris Hunted South Africa both times,
9 game animals taken
