Mtn rifles Inc 416 Rem

I would keep it as is except maybe change the recoil pad, make a muzzle cap for it and Cerakote
it if it shoots sub-MOA. If not, I would start from scratch. forget the barrel band. Talley swivels in the
stock work well. I don't usually like iron sights or barrel bands as they are just something else to get caught on brush, clothing, gun cases, or other items. I use RMRs on my doubles as they make up so for my old eyes and on a bolt, you can use quick detach rings (Talley or Alaskans) and put an RMR on in a pinch which you can carry in a small waterproof case in your pack or pocket. I have 2 rifles setup that way and about to do the same with a Lott and a 400H&H.
The anti-break people will be as deaf as I am unless they wear hearing protection 100% of the time break or NO break! And those behind you can or they can plug their ears.
My brother and I built a lot of light weight rifles but since he passed, I lost interest. I have Kevin Weaver
do most of my work and builds now and he is a perfectionist like my brother was. He can build anything you want at you specks and you will have a rifle to hunt the world.

Kevin built my 400 whelen….love it and was great to work with!
I wouldn’t mind a 400h&h basically built just like this. If I started from scratch I’d probably do a .423-.375 h&h…I’ve talked with d’arcy about this caliber and liked what he came up with
(404 Echols seems like a great name for it)…just because I hate resale value
Gotta have some kind of vice

Someone bought the Dakota 76 I was watching and planning on but just waited too long. It was basically just what I wanted except for being 330 Dakota. I was ironing out the details of the project when the dreaded “buy now” stopped me cold ;0

**mistake** that is my ks but that is a 35 whelen not the 416rm I mentioned

Cap that threaded barrel and go hunting. Why are their 2 bolts? Looks to me like everything done to it was done to make it withstand punishment. The site provisions aren't elegant but absolutely utilitarian. If it shoots 1" groups and feeds and ejects everything why mess with it?

I took a picture of a current m70 416rm bolt side by side the bolt for the rifle, I was just comparing a couple things.
Through the magic of photo editing I mocked up the proposed changes

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
