Unusual Ugly Duckling brand new MRC Colorado Buck 505 Gibbs. Didn’t want a brake but it came with it. I shot 10 rounds (2 free hand and 8 from the bench) of Norma PH 600 Woodleigh solids to the tune 6000 Ft lbs. Feeds flawlessly and is a cream puff! I went to 50 yards iron sites and got a group of 3 punctures in a 8 in. diameter... not tack driving by any means (I am lucky to barn doors) but my first time out with a 505.

.....Then went and shot 50 clays..... 12 gauge afterwards....Ok my shoulder is finished for today. LOL. Actually I have only 2 of my 4 rotator cuff muscles from a complete (not repaired) full ruptures a few years ago from lifting. Why am I telling you this? The gun is not that bad! It thumps a bit bit not flinchingly so. If you don’t hear from me by this week it was me who is the cream puff..... lol.

By the way I am aware MRC is caput but it was on Gunbroker back in Mach and the gent who sold it to me was just fantastic! He bought up all their stock, I think, before they closed. Anywho... Looove the functionality with full Cerakote PH action Synthetic stock! Yes all of you arm cahir “Docktaris and Selous” I am aware that no sane PH would allow me to step foot on the veldt with a brake. They probably would greet me at the airport with a hacksaw...: and a refund... lol. Too much for a safari but a Cape Buffalo is on my top seed on my Bucket list... Well it’s been my dream to own a Gibbs and I have all the reloading components.

Congratulations on the 505. Long time dream of mine as well.
I will probably just stick to my .416 Rigby. I have yet to shed blood with it. It will happen.
Curious how it would do with a cap on the instead of the brake. My 7 mm08 came with both. I haven’t shot it with the brake. I thought I might possibly want to suppress it at some point in the future.

Congrats on the new rifle!

Thanks K E! Yepp this is a permanent unless I get it sawed off and re crowned...

Very nice looking rifle! I'll take it! Ha!

Congrats on the new addition!

Welcome to the 505 Gibbs club! I can’t wait for you to experience the sheer stopping power of this caliber when you go Buff hunting

Thanks H Hitman!! Maybe someday. Me thinks a lot of people are attracted to these rifles because at least they can get a taste of even a little of Africa by owning a rifle used there

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
