Does anyone know the up-to-date advice on the legality of transporting a rifle with a silencer/moderator into Moz?

I cannot find anything online that mentions a prohibition, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi lawrence_court,
What country are you traveling from and are there any stops in other countries along the way for you? Traveling to Moz from SA would probably be a different scenario with different issues than, say, traveling from the US.
I don't have any knowledge on the Moz end, but as a manufacturer of silencers/moderators in the US I know a little bit about taking them out of this country.
Regardless, have a wonderful trip and please share some pics when you get back!
By the way, who will you be hunting with?
Good hunting :-)

Hi IdaRam,

Thank you very much for the reply.

We are flying SAA Heathrow to JNB; SAA JNB to Lilongwe; Charter Lilongwe to Lichinga; Charter Lichinga to camp. We are on UK licences with silencers recorded on the licence.

I know we can check the rifles all the way to Lilongwe, so I am not worried about anything other than the Moz rifle desk and if they will be funny about the silencer.

Looking foward to the trip v much. We are hunting with a friend in an area near Niassa.

You have a right to worry, I've heard the arrival into Moz. can result in bribes and long waits. I have no first hand experience and wonder if the process is blown out of proportion.

If there's no actual legal prohibition then we're good to go. Thank you

When you get back and post up those trophy pics please give us a report on your arrival and clearance through customs. Will be very interested to know if anyone raised an eyebrow or if it was a non-event with the silencers.
Thanks!

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
