Has anyone on here built a .375 Ruger on a Mausingfield action? I imagine it is too short for a 375 H & H. If so, which magazine did you use? I would ideally like a switch barrel .222, 30-06 and 375 on the same action using a floorplate magazine but I don't know how feasible this would be? I imagine you would need different magazine boxes, rather than just swapping the follower over?

Also, I would be interested to know if anyone has ever built a .404 on a Mausingfield?

I qouted a build for a 500 Jeffery on a Mausingfield. It was capable and confirmed by ARC. So, 375 Ruger or 404 I imagine is possible. You'd just need a good big bore smith to do the work.

Yes, I think the magazine would be the most difficult part

Look at an R8 if you want those options in a platform.

Not going to be easy, it might not physically be possible to make the Mausingfield work in the 3 listed configurations.

It will be more to it than just that, you need 3 different bolts for that magnum action. I'm not aware of them making a .378" rim diameter in that size bolt. The extractor would probably be okay on 2 of the 3? I am not sure how it would work with the 222.

I know you can get the different bolt faces, but you're right in that an R8 would be much easier.
OP, if you really want a switch barrel with the mausingfield action, you may want to choose two (or more) cartridges with the same bolt face. Pulling apart a bolt and extracter claw just sounds like a recipe to lose something if not designed to do it in the field as the R8 or others.

Thanks for the replies, probably best left for now!

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
