Mauser 9.3x62 caliber rifle re-loading

Happy New Year, Clodo.
I would never suggest it is interchangeable. Didn't say that. I worked up to 00.0gr. BLC2 with the 270Speer for 2,675fps(spooky), then found out in a much smaller case, the 9.3x57, that the 270 Speer bullet was not suitable even for a calf moose, although the moose died, the bullet failed to penetrate the rib cage after going through a leg bone. It might have been going 1,800fps at impact. Still have a bunch of those bullets and only use them for fireforming. The muzzle vel. was 2,300fps even.
The might be OK on deer, but read where a fellow shot a whitetail vertically from a tree stand. The bullet hit the spine and came apart right there, not penetrating the lungs.
That was his report. His rifle was a 9.3x62 & IIRC, his load was about 2,500fps.

I spend a while re-loading for the 9.3x62..here are some photos :I changed the OAL to 83mm since the cases filled up in such a way that the bullet was press down quite a bit to get to 83mm , just to fit into the magazine ...
I am considering other propellant to fill the cases little bit less...I now need to shoot these loads over a chronograph..

Mr. Gert, I would suggest the Wichte N140. I think it would provide a higher initial speed and take up less space.

I understand now. That leg shot calf moose required a shot to the top of his head as the first shot was not a fatal shot, but made him sick so that he couldn't get up.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
