Lefol Expelled from SCI

Crap PH but I am guessing he throws a mean fastball

I’m sorry but I can’t take a grown ass man that goes hunting with a mustache like that seriously.

Honestly he looks like he should be wearing a top hat and tying a woman to railroad tracks in a silent film!
you must pay the rent, i can,t pay the rent. off to the railroad tracks with you.

I put my antenna out with someone who is very close to the Lefol family. He confirmed 100% what the article describes. Kewin has neglected to send trophies for at least three years and never bothered to occupy himself with the operational part of Lefol Safaris. He has burned his name for good in this business and his relatives are furious with him.

That being said, a group of prominent hunters, ex-employees and others have stepped forward to try to disentangle the mess Kewin left behind and with new management and more trustworthy local people on the ground, they are still trying to get those trophies out and put the territory back on track.

Sometimes the apple does fall far from the tree. A shame what Kewin did to the hard work and decades of struggle his father went through to build up Lefol safaris.

I’m very sorry for this situation @Mike Nicholas.

Thank you for the post and confirmaion. I might add, that, in my opinion, he was very rude/dismissive to his mother - who tried to help him from what I saw. He probably blew all the savings his mother and father built and has left her broke.

He may have some kind of mental illness. Even though he didn't want to be bothered with back office operations, he was involved enough at some point to see what his mother and father must've done to operate, felt some sense of pride and obligation you would think. He's not stupid. Like I say, maybe mental issness or spoiled or something.

Entitlement is often the case with a younger generation that didn’t have to work for what the previous generation sacrificed to build.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune and thanks for the heads up regarding your experience with this outfitter. A shame any time it occurs but the CAR is a damn expensive safari to get screwed on...

I agree, but as you're aware, there are much more expensive ones.

I sent Mike a lengthy private message earlier. This whole situation pisses me off and I didn’t even make that hunt.

How can a person be so negligent, foolish, or lazy to mismanage in just a few years an established African hunting safari company in an exotic location that was handed to them on a silver platter? Most people would bust their ass to succeed under such circumstances, I would think.

These “Big Three Antelope Hunts” (bongo/LDE/mountain nyala) cost in the extremely high 5 figures by the time you pay for everything. Plus they are usually once-in-a-lifetime type of hunts.

I guess I’m overthinking the whole thing. You have to practice so much due diligence and then just hope that you don’t get screwed by a few underperforming outfitters.

Good luck and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

Sometimes you have to remember this saying, “stop expecting you from other people”.

I should've gotten a rare Yellow-Back that the guys all said was within 10 yards for a few, but I couldn't see in the think almost jungle place he was at.

Thank you, very nice bunch of animals you got to hunt, I’d kill for the GFH myself, would like a Olive Baboon to & at least you got to hunt & shoot one as well as RRH.

I think don’t dwell on not receiving or getting you trophies home, best to think of a great hunt in an awesome place !

I know if I could hunt those species in that great country/environment on the condition I couldn’t export them, I’d still do the hunt, of course at a lesser price as I can’t afford to go on such a hunt in the first place.

I was prepared to do that on my West African hunt but I succeed in getting them home.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
